Alexis De La Torre is an undergraduate researcher working on BasedMIP and a member of Davis Data Driven Change (D3C), a student-led data justice organization at UC Davis. De La Torre is majoring in Statistics, with an emphasis in Machine Learning, and minoring in Computational Biology. Beginning in summer 2025, he is set to begin work at the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) at the University of California San Francisco. De La Torre is a martial arts practitioner, enjoying Muay Thai and wrestling. He also enjoys reading, especially works of nonfiction.
